Welcome
This being the first post, a little background is in order.
About a month ago a small group of individuals (mainly Ami, Erinn, and I) began talking about making a movie. Erinn specializing in comedy, Ami in human interest/romance and blowing stuff up movies, and myself in period and classical combat (whips, knives, swords, shields, staves, and the like), we made a rather eclectic bunch. Luckily for us, we're all theatre geeks, and we've all held offices in ITS as either presidents or vice-presidents. Erinn and I both have taken tech theatre and Ami and I are both majorly into costume design. Thanks to the great MRAF (may it ressurect soon...) we've all three been trained in stage combat. The problem we ran into is that we're all a bit ADD, so we couldn't do much of a brainstorming session. Also a problem is that none of us have had any real experience with movies... ever. In the end, I ended up making up a plot in a fairly entertaining conversation with Ami on aim on the 13th of December, and since then we've been slowly gathering more ideas. About a week ago I started writing the screenplay which, considering how slow I am, is coming along decently. By now I've finished most of the main characters' costume designs (although a few characters have gotten written in or changed) and Ami has started construction on the first piece. We've started to collect a budget and, thanks to the kindness of Cheryl Strickland, a wonderful lady, we've gotten a large amount of beautiful fabric to start off with. I've ordered supplies for chainmaille that I'll be making, and hopefully they'll be here in less than 11 days. Our ideal filming time will be this summer so that principle photography can be done before I leave for college.
