The other section...

Hey everybody! Ami here, and I am yet another part of this "production". Right now, I am working mainly on costumes. Although I have a new sewing machine, and in order not to break it (i don't know how to use this brand), the costumes are having to be on hold for just a little while. The dress that I have been working on is the dress Ava will wear almost at the end of the movie. It is a warm creme paired up with a darker blue, and although the pattern does not seem to be too difficult, we shall soon see. Caiti and I have been working on designs for a while now, and this dress is the first costume that's been tackled so far. Ava's gown (as have all of her costumes) has been designed partly around the sword she will be carrying. Since it will prove to be a great aspect of her character her outfits need to suggest it as well...plus I got a REALLY cool stage combat sword for Christmas... *YAY* In this same way... the character of Jai has also been pertially designed in accordance to the weapon that she will wield later in the movie, a beautiful dagger. Ava's dress is proving to be quite managable when i do work on it, however, and has turned out lovely so far... (i think this is a good omen since it IS the first costume attempted). One problem has possibly presented itself, and that is the amount of fabric that the dress takes vs. how much we have. I am having to work on the smaller details in order to make sure that it will work out to the amount of fabric we have. But... right now, the main focus is helping Caiti work on the script, so that the character development can be a little more secure as we venture forth to making other costumes... Will update soon on the costumes.
